REST FROM WEARY WORKS
His (God's) work has been finished since the creation of the world. "Today," saying through David, "Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts." For if Joshua had given them rest, God would not have spoken of another day later on. So then, there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God, for whoever has entered God's rest has also rested from his works, just as God did from his. Let us, therefore, make every effort to enter that rest. Hebrews 4:3, 7-11 ESV ¶Moses appointed for God's people the day of the Sabbath to be a time of rest. Joshua won for God's people the land of Canaan as a place of rest. But there was another promised rest still to be gained.
