God to the King: Copy the Book

2 Chronicles 29:25, 32:25 ESV

And he [Hezekiah] stationed the Levites in the house of the Lord with cymbals, harps, and lyres, according to the commandment of David and of Gad the king's seer and of Nathan the prophet, for the commandment was from the Lord through his prophets...
25 But Hezekiah * did not make return according to the benefit done to him, for * his heart was proud. Therefore * wrath came upon him and Judah and Jerusalem.

¶Hezekiah, and all kings of Israel, were to make for themselves a copy of the book of the Law, "that his heart may not be lifted up above his brothers", in other words, that he might not become prideful. Without it, Hezekiah's reformation goes forward, but he himself becomes what is depicted in chapter 32:25. He falls victim to pride, incurring God's own wrath "upon him and Judah and Jerusalem." Even now, effective leaders write, copy, meditate on, rightly divide the Word of Truth, that they might observe to do all that is written therein.
