JESUS'S REJECTION COMPLEX
Psalms 88:14-18 NIV
Why, Lord, do you reject me and hide your face from me? From my youth I have suffered and been close to death; I have borne your terrors and am in despair. Your wrath has swept over me; your terrors have destroyed me. All day long they surround me like a flood; they have completely engulfed me. You have taken from me friend and neighbor— darkness is my closest friend.
¶Ever feel rejected by others? None have suffered rejection so completely and unjustly as Jesus did. Abandoned on the cross by friends, even by God the Father, His anguish is reflected in Psalms such as this. These Psalms are now here for us, showing us how to follow Him in our own moments of anguish and suffering. We have been given "...the same mindset as Christ Jesus, Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness". (Philippians 2:5-7NIV)
