GOD'S POINT OF VIEW
1 Corinthians 1:4-7 ESV
I
give thanks to my God always for you because of the grace of God that
was given you in Christ Jesus, that in every way you were enriched in
him in all speech and all knowledge— even as the testimony about Christ
was confirmed among you— so that you are not lacking in any gift, as you
wait for the revealing of our Lord Jesus Christ,
¶Man's
concern in religion is that he get the benefit of it. Is he getting
saved? Is his faith saving faith? Paul reflects God's point of view that
the Gospel, the saving testimony about Christ, be reflected in the
lives of his disciples. How do our relationships reflect the peace of
God delivered to us in Christ? How does our concern for justice reflect
the compassion of Christ for broken sinners? How does our endurance in
suffering reflect the staying power of Jesus Christ? How does our
confidence in the face of fear reflect the love of Christ?
