IT'S ABOUT OUR ROLES, NOT OUR VALUE
But
I want you to understand that the head of every man is Christ, the head
of a wife is her husband, and the head of Christ is God.
1 Corinthians 11:3 ESV
¶How
often do we bridle at the the necessity to submit to the authority of
someone whom we know is no better than us? Christ did not count equality
with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied Himself, taking on the form
of a servant. It's about our roles, not our value. The authorities that
we are encouraged to respect and emulate are those who come among us
not to dominate, but to serve. The desire to usurp authority is the very
thing that disqualifies from authority.
