IS ANYONE WORTHY?

But he said to them, "Not everyone can receive this saying, but only those to whom it is given... Let the one who is able to receive this receive it."
Matthew 19:11‭-‬12 ESV

¶The ones able to receive the things Jesus is teaching, who are they?
They are the sinners, the poor in spirit, the losers, the ones who know they won't end up at the top of the heap. But Jesus applies a different standard. If we compare ourselves, not with each other, but with God's standard, we all fall short. We all lose. The first step in receiving the upside-down kingdom of God is to realize we are unable to receive it.
