"NOW WHO ARE YOU, AGAIN?"

Now therefore, if you will indeed obey my voice and keep my covenant, you shall be my treasured possession among all peoples, for all the earth is mine; and you shall be to me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.' These are the words that you shall speak to the people of Israel."
Exodus 19:5‭-‬6 ESV

¶When we read the apostle Peter proclaim that we are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, let us return to these initial moments of covenant-making agreement when God chose a people long ago and far away to adopt and call His own. When we realize our inclusion into that people, and our unity with those saints, we begin to grasp how God sees us, and the scope of His mercy.

He asks their opinion. He asks them to inquire of the Lord for themselves, and decide. They have the opportunity to bring the ark of God close to them in their midst.
