MORE THAN APPEASEMENT
He likewise instructed the second and the third and all who followed the droves, "You shall say the same thing to Esau when you find him, and you shall say, 'Moreover, your servant Jacob is behind us.'" For he thought, "I may appease him with the present that goes ahead of me, and afterward I shall see his face. Perhaps he will accept me." Genesis 32:19-20
¶With Jacob I am most impressed with how free his conscience was, how little his conscience bothered him. He was getting through life by appeasing others and running his latest scam, but to what end? Lift up his eyes, Jacob, and see that you are destined for bigger things than appeasing Esau. You are chosen, and renamed Israel. In you, we all find our place, and are accepted.
