LIFEBLOOD

And he shall go out unto the altar that is before the LORD, and make an atonement for it; and shall take of the blood of the bullock, and of the blood of the goat, and put it upon the horns of the altar round about. And he shall sprinkle of the blood upon it with his finger seven times, and cleanse it, and hallow it from the uncleanness of the children of Israel.
Leviticus 16:18‭-‬19 KJV

¶Life is in that blood. Blood sacrifice meant getting your life back. The Spirit of God thus led OT believers to eagerly anticipate the fountain in which they could lose all their guilty stain. For those cleansed by the blood of Jesus Christ, it means getting not our life back, but a chance to share in the new life, eternal life, that is in His blood. Not just a second chance, but a new nature awaits.
