NOT JUST A JOB
"My anger is hot against the shepherds, and I will
punish the leaders; for the Lord of hosts cares for his flock, the house
of Judah, and will make them like his majestic steed in battle.
Zechariah 10:3 ESV
¶It
was for this that Jesus came. His own were wandering like sheep without
a shepherd, and with shepherds who fed only themselves. He came as the
good shepherd. Not just halo-over-his-head good, but good as in
effective, reliable, in that:
1. He would not just run away at the first sign of a threat like a hired hand who had no ownership. 2. His sheep are secure from the sheep rustler, because they know his voice, and cannot be led away by another.
