NAILED IT!!
The next day he (John) saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, "Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!
John 1:29 ESV
¶What
could possibly keep the scales of the universe in balance morally? In
the face of humanity's universal moral corruption, is there a redeeming
force that keeps it in balance? Archimedes is quoted as saying "Give me a
lever long enough and a fulcrum on which to place it, and I shall move
the world". God may provide the moral fulcrum, but where is the lever?
What moral agent could go to the lengths necessary to balance off the
sins of the world? For this we look to the One seen in Daniel's vision
as "like a son of man", come down from heaven, who can alone "make
everything sad come untrue". He is the lone righteous remnant of the
tribe of Judah. John the Baptist nailed it when he exclaimed of Him
“Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!"
