 NO "TREASURY OF MERIT"


Even if these three men, Noah, Daniel, and Job, were in it, they would deliver but their own lives by their righteousness, declares the Lord God.

¶The righteousness of God cannot be transferred to someone else, or borrowed or bought from one person to another. What is required of the sinner is that he die. Then we are invited to live again by the power of the resurrection, 

"gain(ing) Christ and be(ing) found in him, 
not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, 
but that which comes through faith in Christ, 
the righteousness from God that depends on faith—
that I may know him and the power of his resurrection" 
(Philippians 3:9-10).
