CREATION'S DEEPER MYSTERY

The Lord reigns; he is robed in majesty; the Lord is robed; he has put on strength as his belt. Yes, the world is established; it shall never be moved. Your throne is established from of old; you are from everlasting.
Psalm 93:1‭-‬2 ESV

¶We are able to observe, measure, predict, and put to use the world around us because of the One who established and maintains it. He is enthroned above it. To get things done, all of us assume the rules that govern the world around us to be stable ("established", as the Psalm says), but how many of us stop to wonder: "why?". At whatever level we look, there are rules, code, the sustaining Word of God commanding: "Fiat! (Let there be!)" Scripture tells us that in the beginning was the Logos (Word), when spoken, that separated light from darkness, being from nothingness, the original on/off signal, the first great digital divide. Apart from Logos, nothing was made that has been made. Our experience of the world is also that, apart from His Logos, nothing that was made can be understood. Consider the movie The Matrix, which purported to portray everything in the world around us as coded data. The reality of creation lies not in created things, but in the Creator. Is it possible that He has written Himself into our story? To do so would be to disrupt the exquisitely balanced rules of the entire created order. Unless...and this is deep mystery of the ages...that One, that Christ, was there "In the beginning", part of the plan, hidden until now, uniting time and eternity, Son of God, and son of man.

He asks their opinion. He asks them to inquire of the Lord for themselves, and decide. They have the opportunity to bring the ark of God close to them in their midst.
